Starting off the new year with a new adventure to the land of ~Phoenix, Arizona~ This time to search for a place of our own as a family. Joe’s side of the family lives there and we’ll have lots of connections to get us started.
For one, I’ll be tattooing out of Joe’s friend’s barbershop. I don’t know how it will be yet, not working around other tattooers for a change. I’ve always thought working around other tattoo artists is important, but I also know that there are other ways to keep learning on my own.
Creativity is limitless! and I’m learning to be flexible in the ways that it wants to express itself through my life.
Even when tattooing is slow, I’m grateful to have it as a constant– as my reason to sit down at the table and keep drawing.
[Sometimes work becomes work no matter what the dream job is. It becomes “I have to draw” and no longer “I get to draw.”
Now and then it will hit me, like damn, I get to get a babysitter so I can go to the library to draw a dragon. Middle school me would be so stoked to hear that.
As a parent alone time is precious so working kinda feels like a treat now. Sometimes you gotta set up your life in a way that things feel like a treat, man!! Not that you have to have a baby for that but yeah…]
2025 has brought clarity and welcome changes. I feel inspired, and called to be of service in ways outside of tattooing. I don’t feel like I have to choose one thing over another and have it be final. I have a few goals for 2026, but overall I just want to enjoy as much as possible.
And so, my parting wish for you as we close out this year, is that you give yourself permission to create maximum enjoyment through everything you do. May you expand and evolve with every new thing you learn. May you give rise to new versions of yourself that only reveal the truest you that you’ve been all along. A wonderful and beloved being.
Much love and Happy New Year. xxxx
